Cooling
Why is the engine overheating?
The engine produces more heat than cooling can remove. Distinguish constant, load-only or travel-only overheating, onset after repair and sudden onset.
Level and leaks
On a cold machine check level, external leaks, hoses, radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater/additional circuits and expansion tank. Do not open the system hot.
Radiators and airflow
Dust, grass, oily dirt and material debris can block external cores. Check fins, charge-air cooler, hydraulic cooler, spaces between cores, fan direction/speed and fan clutch/hydraulic motor/electronic control. A clean exterior does not prove a clear interior.
Thermostat
Incomplete opening may cope at low load but overheat under load. Test according to the specific engine procedure.
Water pump
Impeller damage, slipping, wear, leaks, cavitation or drive faults are possible. A rotating pulley does not prove coolant is being circulated.
Air in the system
Repair or coolant replacement can leave an air pocket, especially with complex hose routing and a high radiator/tank.
Cylinder gases
A leaking head gasket, head or liner can introduce gas and rapidly raise pressure/temperature. Clues: expelled coolant, quickly hardening hoses, bubbles, level rise immediately after load and repeated overheating despite a sound radiator.
Engine load
Excess hydraulic/transmission load creates more heat. Under heavy work also observe RPM, load, hydraulic pressure, transmission condition and fan operation at full command.
What to observe
Idle or working, fan operation, clean cores, coolant loss/expulsion, heater warmth, onset after repair and temperature/fan faults.

Have a fault code?
Problem still there?
If these checks have not identified the cause or the fault returns, contact TSV Servis. The more initial information you provide, the sooner we can identify the next diagnostic direction.
What to send us
Machine/engine model, conditions and temperature, fan operation, radiator/thermostat/pump condition and gases in the cooling system.
Include the make and model, S/N or a nameplate photo, engine model if known, operating hours, exact code or display photo and when the fault occurs.
Also tell us what you have already checked or replaced and the results. Include a photo or short video of the symptom where useful.
