Engine oil
Low engine oil pressure: what to do
Low oil pressure is not a reason to continue “while it still runs”. First distinguish genuinely low pressure from a sensor/instrument error, then check level, viscosity, filter, pump and engine wear.
Stop and check the level
Stop the engine for a red oil-pressure light or low-pressure alarm. Check level, major external leaks, diesel dilution, coolant in oil and the correct oil grade. An excessively high level caused by fuel or coolant is dangerous too.
Measure with a mechanical gauge
The sensor or wiring may be wrong. A gauge at the test point allows comparison with manufacturer specifications cold, hot, at idle and at increased RPM. There is no universal value for all engines.
Pressure falls after warming
Consider increased internal clearances/leakage: main/connecting-rod bearings, camshaft/supports, oil-pump wear, relief-valve fault or overly thin/diluted oil.
Pump and valve
Check pump drive, pickup/strainer, pump, relief valve, suction-line seals, pickup cracks and filter/bypass.
After engine repair
If low pressure began immediately after repair, also check bearing-shell installation, piston-cooling oil jets, oil-gallery plugs, gaskets, clearances and pump assembly.
What to observe
Level and whether it rises/falls, the exact warning, hot-only or constant pressure loss, metallic noise, oil used and the last oil/filter change.

Have a fault code?
Problem still there?
If these checks have not identified the cause or the fault returns, contact TSV Servis. The more initial information you provide, the sooner we can identify the next diagnostic direction.
What to send us
Engine model, S/N, oil, hours, actual cold/hot gauge pressures and the history of the problem.
Include the make and model, S/N or a nameplate photo, engine model if known, operating hours, exact code or display photo and when the fault occurs.
Also tell us what you have already checked or replaced and the results. Include a photo or short video of the symptom where useful.
