Exhaust smoke
Why does the excavator emit black smoke?
Black smoke means an overly rich mixture: more fuel relative to air than the engine can burn properly. It is not always leaking injectors; on construction machines, air, turbo, EGR or exhaust often deserve attention.
Air filter and intake
Check filter condition, intake blockage, an internally damaged hose, a closed flap and foreign objects. Air shortage can produce black smoke even with sound injectors.
Turbo and boost
Check turbo spool-up, wheel damage, excessive play, hoses, intercooler, clamps, leaks downstream of the compressor and actual boost. Black smoke with weak performance and new whistling/hissing calls for a boost-leak check.
EGR
A stuck-open or incorrectly operating EGR can admit too much exhaust and too little fresh air. Check command, actual position, valve contamination, passages and sensors used to calculate airflow.
Injectors
Overdelivery or poor atomization is possible. Clues include smoke beyond full-load operation, rough running, increased consumption, unusual corrections or one different cylinder. Do not replace injectors by smoke color alone before checking air and boost.
Incorrect load
Excess hydraulic load may cause the ECM to deliver fuel for the requested power while the engine cannot gain RPM. Observe which function is engaged, RPM drop, smoke only at a stop and possible main-pump overload.
Restricted exhaust
A blocked DPF or damaged exhaust can impair turbo operation and gas exchange. Check differential pressure, temperatures, DPF/DOC/SCR condition and regeneration history.
What to observe
Idle or load-only smoke, power loss, sudden/gradual onset, whistling/hissing, filter condition, boost/EGR/DPF faults and the machine function that triggers smoke.

Problem still there?
If these checks have not identified the cause or the fault returns, contact TSV Servis. The more initial information you provide, the sooner we can identify the next diagnostic direction.
What to send us
Machine/engine model, S/N, smoke conditions, power loss and boost, fuel, EGR and DPF readings.
Include the make and model, S/N or a nameplate photo, engine model if known, operating hours, exact code or display photo and when the fault occurs.
Also tell us what you have already checked or replaced and the results. Include a photo or short video of the symptom where useful.
